The Long Cane District is part of the
Blue
Ridge Council, Boy Scouts of America. The Blue Ridge
Council is made up of an eight county area in the northwest corner
of South Carolina.

What are the
age groups within Scouting?
CUB SCOUTS
For boys in 1st through 5th grades. Cub dens of about 8-10
boys meet weekly to have fun and work on rank advancement badges
like Bobcat, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and the Arrow of Light.
BOY SCOUTS
For boys who have completed the 5th grade or turned 11 years
old but have not yet reached their 18th birthday.
Boy scout troops meet weekly to work on outdoor skills development
and leadership skills. Monthly camping trips are common
among area troops.
VENTURING
Venturing offers a program that is fun and full of challenge
and adventure for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed
the eighth grade) through 20 years of age. Learn more about high
adventure, sports, arts and hobbies, youth ministries, and Sea
Scouting crews.
