Fighting Multiple Sclerosis

jane's father suffers from a disease that has no cure: Multiple Sclerosis. jane's passion and mission involves educating people about this disease as well as earning support from the public to find a cure for this debilitating disease.

Multiple Sclerosis, a chronic and often disabling disease, attacks the central nervous system. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and symptoms of MS in any one person cannot be predicted. Advances in research and treatment are giving hope to those affected by the disease through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Founded in 1946, the NMSS supports more MS research than any national voluntary not-for-profit organization in the world. It remains the only one to meet the standards of all groups that rate not-for-profit.

NMSS members consist of people with MS, their family members, concerned friends and neighbors, and health-care professionals. As the world's largest private funder of MS research through local, state, and national advocacy programs, the Society serves as a voice for Americans with MS. Their location on the web can be found here. The Mid-Atlantic Chapter Regional Office for South Carolina is located at 2711 Middleburg Drive, Suite 105 in Columbia, SC 29204. Click here to see the Mid-Atlantic Chapter's Website. You can reach them at (803) 799-7848 or 1-800-922-7591. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society remains the "One Thing People with MS Can Count On."
